Beyond the number
It does the reading for you.
Most spreadsheets stop at the calculation. This one reads your results and tells you where to look first.
Your strongest line
The campaign earning the most for every dollar it spends. Usually not the one getting the attention.
Your weakest line
The one quietly costing more than it returns. Named plainly, so the conversation can happen.
Anything below break-even
See which lines are costing more than they return, so you know where to look first.
Your biggest bet
The line holding the largest share of your total spend, and whether it is earning that position.
The rows that surprise you are the ones worth your attention.
The maths, in the open
One formula. No mystery.
Marketing ROI is not complicated. It is one calculation, done honestly. The maths is the same for any marketing investment: campaign, channel, project, product launch or partnership.
( Revenue − Marketing spend ) ÷ Marketing spend × 100 = ROI %
A worked example
A campaign costs $1,200 to run and generates $18,600 in attributable revenue. ($18,600 minus $1,200) divided by $1,200, multiplied by 100, gives an ROI of 1,450%. Every dollar invested returned $14.50 on top of itself. The calculator does this for every line you enter, automatically.
Enter your numbers once. The reading takes care of itself.

Questions, answered.
What's a good marketing ROI?
It depends on your margins and your goals, but the calculator gives you a working guide: anything at 20% or above shows green, results between break-even and 20% show amber, and anything below break-even shows red. The point is not a universal benchmark. It is knowing where each of your own investments sits.
Can I use this for any type of marketing?
Yes. The calculator works anywhere you're comparing marketing investment against measurable return. Campaigns, product launches, partnerships, events, sponsorships, CRM, paid media, PR, content and brand activity all use the same underlying calculation.
What can I measure?
Anything you invest time or budget into and expect a measurable return from. If you can put a spend figure and a return figure against it, the calculator can read it.
What is ROMI, and is it the same thing?
ROMI stands for Return on Marketing Investment. Different organisations define it differently: some measure against revenue, some against profit, some against contribution margin. This calculator uses the standard revenue-based calculation because it is simple, transparent and widely understood. If your organisation measures ROMI differently, the structure still holds. Use the numbers your business uses.
Do I need Excel to use it?
No. The calculator works in both Excel and Google Sheets, and Google Sheets is free in any browser. Download once, add your numbers, keep it forever. No course, no subscription, nothing new to learn.
